Candidate FAQ
(For Dental Nurses Registering With POM)
How do I register?
You can register online or in person. You’ll need proof of ID, right-to-work documents, GDC registration (if applicable), indemnity insurance, Enhanced DBS, Hepatitis B immunisation, and your National Insurance number. Once verified, we activate your profile and you can start receiving shifts.
What roles can I apply for?
We recruit only for Dentists, Hygienists, Therapists, and Dental Nurses.
Do I need experience?
For clinical roles, you must meet GDC or sector requirements. We will match you to shifts that suit your skills and experience.
How often will I get work?
This depends on your availability, reliability, and how quickly you respond to shift offers. Many candidates receive regular, ongoing shifts.
When do I get paid?
We pay weekly or monthly depending on the assignment. You’ll receive a payslip for every payment.
Do I need a DBS?
Yes. All dental roles require an Enhanced DBS. If you don’t have one, we can guide you through the application process.
Do I need to be GDC registered?
Yes, for all clinical roles: Dentists, Hygienists, Therapists, and Dental Nurses.
Can I choose my shifts?
You choose your availability, and we’ll offer shifts that fit. You’re always free to accept or decline.
What happens if I can’t attend a shift?
You must notify us as early as possible so we can arrange cover. No-shows without communication may affect future work.
Do you offer training?
Not at the moment. We will inform you if this changes in the future.
How do I update my details?
You can contact the office or update your profile online. It’s important to keep your phone number, availability, and compliance documents up to date.
How do I get more shifts?
Candidates who receive the most work respond quickly, maintain excellent attendance, keep documents up to date, and receive positive feedback from practices.
